Melissa Kuehne | Sacramento, Sacramento County

Melissa Kuehne is the Communications and Development Manager for the Institute for Local Government (ILG). She handles website content and maintenance, articles, blogs and newsletters, social media, strategic planning for communications and ILG’s Partner Program.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from US San Diego and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs. Prior to joining ILG she worked for Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-6) and the Downtown Sacramento Partnership in Sacramento and the Housing Development Consortium and the Ruckelshaus Center in Seattle, WA.
ILG is the research and education affiliate of the California State Association of Counties, the League of California Cities and California Special Districts Association. The Institute’s mission is to promote good government at the local level with practical, impartial and easy-to-use resources for California communities. ILG program areas include: public engagement, sustainable communities, local government basics and ethics. ILG’s dedicated staff provides technical assistance, trainings, webinars and online and print resources to: foster ethical, transparent local Governments, create active and engaged communities, and ensure elected officials and staff have the tools they need to make informed, ethical decisions.
