Justin Lovell | South San Francisco, San Mateo County

Justin Lovell is on assignment in the City Manager’s Office as an Assistant to the City Manager with the City of South San Francisco. Justin has worked with the City of South San Francisco since 2009 where he has worked as a Management Analyst II in the Public Works Department and as a Financial Analyst II in the Finance Department.

In the City Manager’s Office, Justin coordinates transportation initiatives within the city, manages the operations of the free South City Shuttle, works closely on sustainability issues, and provides support to council members on special projects.

Justin has experience in budgeting, finance, community engagement, transportation planning, project management, and process and workflow improvements.

Prior to his work in local government, Justin served two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia where he worked with the mayor’s office in a small town in the southeastern part of the country, where he formed a youth ecological club, taught environmental education in the schools and conducted workshops in solid waste management. Justin also served one year in the AmeriCorps where he worked with at-risk youth.

Justin has bachelors in Recreation Administration from San Diego State University and masters in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School in New York City.

On his free time Justin enjoys swimming, bike riding, and cooking for his wife and four year old daughter.
