The City of Half Moon Bay will be participating in this year’s International City County Managers Association’s (ICMA) Professional Fellows Program – an international exchange program which allows young professionals from Southeast Asia to learn about good governance, economic development, environmental sustainability, and civic engagement through a four-week fellowship. We are hoping to expose our two Fellows to local government professionals and organizations so that they may enhance their practical expertise, leadership skills, and professional contacts to address challenges and create new opportunities in their home communities.
Our two incoming Fellows are from Indonesia and Singapore, and are particularly interested in women’s/children’s rights and gender equality/women’s rights, respectively. As part of the fellowship, we are arranging tours, informational sessions and interviews with local governments during the period of October 17, 2016 and November 11, 2016. Though the Fellows have particular interests, the fellowship focuses on general local government best practices. If you or your organization are interested in helping out by spending a day or two hosting a tour and/or informational sessions for the Fellows, please contact Oscar Murillo at [email protected]. Thank you.
